Axolotl Launches Full Solution for Hospital Transcription Departments
Axolotl Corporation, a leading provider of health information management products and services, today announced the release of its Axolotl Transcription Management System (ATMS). In use for over two years by Axolotl's outsourced services, ATMS is now available to HIM departments across America. ATMS is a comprehensive solution designed to meet the needs of both small healthcare organizations and large health networks in managing their entire transcription process -- including a central control database, local and remote MT workstations, and HIM tools enabling easy management of MT workflow and productivity, quality assurance, editing, and training.
"Whether MTs work on-site, at home, or in combination, ATMS provides easy-to-use workstations and powerful transcription management and production tools with capabilities that are tailored to meet the unique requirements of each customer," said Raymond Scott, CEO for Axolotl. "HIM departments can easily automate work routing, create work pools and templates, track turnaround time, and edit and manage delinquent reports. MTs can be productive with little or no training using familiar tools like Microsoft Word and Stedman's Medical Dictionary."
"This is the most responsive system I have ever used," said Teresa Cansell, an MT with 25 years' experience. "I use a standard PC and the Internet to securely access voice files and control playback with a WAV pedal. Microsoft Word templates automatically pop up, pre-populated with demographic information and with the corresponding voice file -- allowing me to type each report quickly and seamlessly move on to the next."
"HIM staff have never had it easier," said Michael Hill, an MT editor with 15 years' experience. "They can monitor the entire production process on-line. It's easy to track and manage quality, turn around time, and the completion of documents. Physicians can access, review, and sign transcribed reports from any secure PC workstation, and completed documents can be optionally forwarded into a repository or EMR."
