Medsite and Speech Machines Align to Offer Internet-Based Medical Transcription Services

Medsite Transcription Provides Physicians and Medical

Professionals with Secure Web-Enabled Solutions to Reduce

Transcription Costs and Turnaround Time

Medsite, the physician's home on the Internet, and Speech Machines, the leading speech-to-data Application Service Provider (ASP), today announced at Intel Corporation's Internet Health Pavilion at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference an alliance in which Medsite will utilize Speech Machines' DictationNet(TM) technology to offer Internet-based medical transcription services.

Medsite intends to provide physicians with Medsite Transcription, a transcription service that utilizes encryption to ensure patient privacy. The Medsite Transcription service is designed to meet all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA (The Health Information Portability and Accountability Act) compliance.

Medsite Transcription is designed to allow physicians and healthcare providers to register for the service at www.medsite.com and, after receiving a personal code, to dictate medical records using a toll-free number. Using Speech Machines' DictationNet (www.dictationnet.com) technology, the voice dictation will be encrypted for security and sent over the Internet for transcription by contractors selected and managed by Medsite. Transcribed documents will be returned by the physician's method of choice, including secure e-mail or fax, within 24 hours.

"Medsite recognizes the need physicians have for accurate medical transcription services, and the importance of timeliness, security, reliability and cost-savings for that service," said Sundeep Bhan, founder and CEO of Medsite. "Through our alliance with Speech Machines, Medsite intends to offer doctors and other medical professionals with a web-enabled transcription solution to meet these needs."

"Speech Machines is uniquely positioned to embed Internet-based transcription capabilities into the service offerings of leading e-Health vendors," said Michael von Grey, president and CEO of Speech Machines. "Following Medsite's successful launch of other services into the physician office, we are delighted to add this new transcription service, enabled by our powerful DictationNet architecture, to Medsite's offerings."
